What is it?

Remember the times when networking actually meant to leave the office, go to a networking event and physically meet people?  Yes, those events still exist and are great way to meet people and make business connections.  But there are drawbacks, first off the above mentioned "leaving the comfort zone of your office".   Plus, those events usually carry a heavy local flavor, and you may not present yourself to the highest possible number of contacts.  And, who knows if that one person that needs your product and service is at the same place at the same time you are.  Usually you get a 30 to 60 second commercial or self introduction at those events and it can be hard to present yourself in that short time, and therefor it may not create the necessary 'stickyness'.

So, how can you avoid those drawbacks but still network effectively?  Well, this is the 21st century and thanks to the Internet you do not have to leave your office, and you can present yourself, your services and your products to the wide world from the comfort of your keyboard.
